The Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice
The Mitchell Institute at Queen's University Belfast, named after the chair of the negotiations that produced the Good Friday Agreement, is a leading interdisciplinary centre for research on peace, security and justice. Drawing on Northern Ireland's experience of conflict and peacemaking, the Institute conducts research on conflict transformation, legacy and transitional justice, and hosts an international community of doctoral researchers and fellows.

The International Peace Institute (IPI) is an independent, non-profit think tank located across from United Nations headquarters in New York, with an office in Manama. Founded in 1970, IPI works to strengthen inclusive multilateralism and the prevention and settlement of conflicts, providing research, policy analysis and convening spaces that bring together member states, UN officials and civil society.
Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies
The Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame is one of the world's principal centres for the study of the causes of violent conflict and strategies for sustainable peace. Founded in 1986, it conducts interdisciplinary research, offers degree programmes from undergraduate to doctoral level, and houses the Peace Accords Matrix, which monitors the implementation of comprehensive peace agreements, including the Colombian accord.
PeaceJam
PeaceJam was launched in 1996 by co-founders Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvanjieff to provide the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates with a vehicle for working together to teach young people the art of peace. The idea of connecting Peace Laureates with youth came from young gang members in Ivan's neighborhood. They were carrying guns yet raved about Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu and how this small man stood up to the guns of apparthied in South Africa - and how they would love to meet him. The first PeaceJam conferences took place two years later in the United States with the Dalai Lama and Betty Williams. Soon after, Desmond Tutu hosted the first international PeaceJam Conference in South Africa with black and white youth who had never interacted with one another before and grew to see each other as allies with shared purpose.
Search for Common Ground
Search for Common Ground is one of the largest dedicated peacebuilding organisations in the world, founded in 1982. Working in dozens of countries, it aims to transform the way societies deal with conflict, away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative solutions, using tools ranging from mediation and dialogue to media production, community organising and work with youth and security actors.

The Carter Center, founded in 1982 by former US President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter in partnership with Emory University, works to advance peace and health worldwide. Its peace programmes focus on election observation, conflict resolution and mediation, human rights and rule of law, guided by the principle of waging peace, fighting disease and building hope.
