The Gorée Institute, Centre for Democracy, Development and Culture in Africa, is an independent pan-African organisation founded in 1992 and located on Gorée Island off Dakar, a site heavy with the memory of the transatlantic slave trade. The Institute works to build peaceful, just and self-sufficient African societies through peace consolidation programmes, support to democratic processes and elections, political dialogue, and the encouragement of artistic and literary creativity.

Centre for Nonviolent Action (CNA)
The Centre for Nonviolent Action is a regional peacebuilding organisation with offices in Sarajevo and Belgrade, working since 1997 on dealing with the past and reconciliation across the countries of the former Yugoslavia. CNA facilitates encounters between war veterans from opposing sides, organises peace education and training in nonviolent conflict transformation, and documents processes of dealing with the past through publications and films.

Established in 1991, the ISS is Africa’s leading multidisciplinary human security organisation, with a unique operational model that combines research, policy analysis, technical assistance and training. The ISS has also developed a powerful forecasting capability to identify future risks and opportunities in fields as diverse as development, industrialisation, demographics, technology and climate change.

The Institute for Peace and Unification Studies at Seoul National University, established in 2006, is a leading Korean centre for peace research. IPUS conducts multidisciplinary research on peace on the Korean Peninsula and beyond, runs long-term surveys on unification perceptions and North Korean social change, publishes the Asian Journal of Peacebuilding, and offers public peace education through its academies.
Jeju Peace Institute
The Jeju Peace Institute is a South Korean think tank founded in 2006 and located on Jeju, designated an Island of World Peace. JPI is devoted to the study and promotion of peace on the Korean Peninsula and regional cooperation in East Asia, conducting policy-oriented research and hosting international dialogues including activities connected to the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity.

Barcelona International Peace Center (BIPC)
The Barcelona International Peace Center (BIPC) is an initiative aimed to promote the culture of peace through dialogue, awareness-raising, and training in crisis management and conflict resolution. Created in 2009 by the Barcelona City Council in the context of the historical recovery process of the Montjuïc Castle. In 2017, the Center becomes a fully independent non-profit initiative hosted nowadays by the Valors Humans Foundation. With a unique model in Catalonia and in Spain, the Center for Peace is inspired by the philosophy of centers around the world specializing in crisis management and peace operations.
