The Escola de Cultura de Pau (School for a Culture of Peace) is a peace research centre at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, founded in 1999. It conducts research on armed conflicts, peace processes and human rights, publishes the annual Alert! report on conflicts and peacebuilding, and promotes peace education and the transformation of conflicts through training, analysis and public engagement.
Gernika Gogoratuz
Gernika Gogoratuz, meaning Remembering Gernika in Basque, is a peace research centre founded in 1987 by the Basque Parliament on the fiftieth anniversary of the bombing of Gernika. From the symbolic town itself, the centre conducts research and action on conflict transformation, memory and reconciliation, restorative justice and cultures of peace, linking the legacy of Gernika to contemporary peacebuilding worldwide.
International Catalan Institute for Peace
The International Catalan Institute for Peace is a research, dissemination and action organization created by the Parliament of Catalonia in 2007 to promote peace in Catalan society and internationally and make Catalonia play an active role as an agent of peace in the world. ICIP is a public institution, but at the same time, it is independent with its legal personality. It aims to support public administrations, the academic world and civil society and reports to Parliament, the Government and the citizenry.

The Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University is one of the world's oldest and most influential centres for peace research, founded in 1971. It is home to the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP), the leading global provider of data on organised violence, and conducts research on the causes and dynamics of armed conflict, conflict resolution and peacebuilding alongside education from bachelor to doctoral level.
Life & Peace Institute
The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international centre for nonviolent conflict transformation founded in 1985 and based in Uppsala. LPI works with local partners in the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region, supporting community-based peacebuilding, dialogue processes and civil society capacity, and connecting local experience to national, regional and international policy through research and advocacy.

Interpeace is an international organisation for peacebuilding headquartered in Geneva, initially established by the United Nations in 1994. Interpeace supports locally led peacebuilding initiatives in over twenty countries, grounded in the principle that peace cannot be imported from the outside but must grow from within societies. It also works to make international assistance more supportive of peace through its policy and learning work.
