Center for Conflict Resolution (CECORE)

The Center for Conflict Resolution (CECORE) is a Ugandan non-profit organisation founded in 1995 that promotes alternative and creative means of preventing, managing and resolving conflict. Working across Uganda, the Great Lakes region and the Horn of Africa, CECORE empowers communities, especially women and youth, through peace education, dialogue and mediation, advocacy and capacity building, and serves as regional secretariat for GPPAC Eastern and Central Africa.

The Edinburgh Peace Institute

The Edinburgh Peace Institute advances a human needs approach to peacemaking, peacekeeping, and peacebuilding. We achieve this through educational training, research, and mediation, as we advocate for peaceful relations, and human needs, with and between, political, social, humanitarian, and religious actors in conflict. In a complex conflict world, we have to ethically balance, the sacred and scientific worlds. We engage enlightenment principles of verification in our research approach, to open up a discussion for peace.

 


Academi Heddwch Cymru

Academi Heddwch is Wales’ first ‘peace institute’ – and one among a global family of research institutes bringing together the best academic minds and expertise to build a better world through peace-rooted approaches to global challenges. Academi Heddwch aims to extend Wales’ long-standing tradition of peace-making and peace-promotion, by developing and coordinating an independent community of researchers in related fields. Funded through Welsh Government, Academi Heddwch works to place peace firmly on Wales’ national agenda, as well as on the international stage through working with an existing global network of peace institutes.

 


Conciliation Resources

Conciliation Resources is an independent international organisation working with people in conflict to prevent violence, resolve conflicts and promote peaceful societies. Founded in 1994, it provides long-term accompaniment to peace processes, supports local partners in conflict-affected regions, and publishes the Accord series documenting lessons from peace processes around the world.

 


INCORE - International Conflict Research Institute

INCORE, the International Conflict Research Institute at Ulster University, was established in 1993 in association with the United Nations University. Based in Derry/Londonderry, INCORE combines research, training and policy work on the causes and consequences of conflict and the tools of peacebuilding, drawing on Northern Ireland's own transition while working comparatively across conflict-affected societies.

 


International Alert

International Alert is one of the world's leading peacebuilding organisations, founded in 1986 and headquartered in London. Alert works with people directly affected by conflict to find peaceful solutions, focusing on the underlying causes of violence such as exclusion, injustice and competition over resources. It combines long-term programming in conflict-affected countries with research and advocacy to shape peace-supporting policy.

 


Network of European Peace Scientists

The Network of European Peace Scientists is a network of scholars committed to the advancement of Peace Research in Europe. In line with Peace Science tradition, the NEPS welcomes scholars from an interdisciplinary community from a variety of disciplines such as economics, political science, regional science, mathematics, and history.

 


Peace Direct

Peace Direct is an international organisation dedicated to supporting local peacebuilders in conflict zones, based on the conviction that local people have the power to find their own solutions to conflict. It channels funding and visibility to grassroots organisations, conducts research on localisation and the decolonisation of aid and peacebuilding, and runs the Peace Insight platform mapping local peacebuilding worldwide.

 


Peace Pledge Union

The Peace Pledge Union is one of the UK's oldest pacifist organisations. We resist everyday militarism, promote active nonviolence and educate for peace. We are the British section of War Resisters' International.

 


Saferworld

Saferworld is an independent international organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. It conducts research, supports community security and peacebuilding programmes in conflict-affected countries, and advocates for policies on arms control, gender, and conflict-sensitive approaches to aid and security assistance.
